Tyler Was Ridiculously Good at Knitting by Will Field & Blair Strandberg Tomlinson

During her 6 years in Jackson, Tyler held quite a long list of jobs before finding her true calling as a residential counselor at CV Ranch in August 2013. Because Jackson Hole is a resort town, jobs are hard to find and often temporary, since most ski/outdoor companies don’t have as much of a demand during the dreaded off-seasons. Tyler’s resume, to name a few, included: nanny, restaurant hostess, sales associate at a sporting good store, tech at a physical therapy practice, ski rentals associate, receptionist at a real estate company, receptionist at a resort, receptionist at a doctor’s office…. If you know Tyler, you would know that answering phones at a desk is not for her. The receptionist jobs were very short-lived (I think one lasted less than a week) as they bored her to tears. However, this is where her love for knitting began. She had to find some kind of creative outlet during those less-than-stimulating jobs, so she challenged herself to learn how to knit.

These are just a few samples from her large body of work.

Vote for Milly in the Good Dog Contest!

wpid-fb_img_1442510156379.jpg

I entered Milly into the 2015 Garden & Gun Good Dog Photo Contest. Poor Milly isn’t always the most photogenic because of her dark fur, but I think this is picture is a winner. If she gets the most votes, she will be featured in the magazine as why she is a Good Dog. And I think we all know why she is the BEST dog.

You can vote one time per computer/phone every 24 hours until October 15th.

Celebrating Tyler and Nix’s Forever Victory Lap at the 2015 JH Marathon by Blair Loughrie & Maddie McQueeney

One of our favorite activities with TetonTy was sitting on the porch of the yellow house on Hansen Avenue, where we spent many nights (wee hours of the morning) over-serving ourselves with red wine. In between gossip, Tylerisms, and deep life conversations, we stumbled upon the idea of running with her in the 2012 Marathon. Because we weren’t quite “Turbo-Tyler,” we decided to create a team of four that would run beside her. Together with Margie Boyd and Sarah Hirsch, we were defeated by Tyler, even though we only had to run 6-mile intervals.

Milly dawg

IMG_6061

If you haven’t had the pleasure of meeting Tyler’s beloved Milly, she is the rescue dog Tyler adopted 4-5 years ago. Like her mom, Milly is one-of-a-kind. Literally- she is 1/2 black lab, 1/4 pug and 1/4 Boston Terrier. So she acts like a labrador in that she is very athletic, but she is small and occasionally when she’s really tired has adorable pug snorts.
